Consumer Product Design and Evaluation

I have been involved in the design and evaluation of numerous consumer products. One project required me to re-design a device for measuring blood sugar levels in diabetics. My approach was to use a combination of Human Factors methods to identify problems with using the current device and make proposals for redesign. Through evaluation of the redesigned product, I was able to demonstrate that the new device was quicker and easier to use as well as substantially reducing errors by users.
